2009/10 SCHOOL YEAR
As a public school, Westland is funded primarily by Montgomery County through its budget process. Such funding covers the basics, but is not sufficient to provide the resources staff and students need to create a top-notch learning environment. That’s where the Westland PTA comes in. Funds raised by the PTA underwrite cultural arts programs, after-school programs, teacher initiatives, administrative support, scholarships, and special projects. These are not luxuries; they represent an integral part of our children’s education. Westland has made great strides in the past few years, and now offers an exciting, challenging international curriculum that prepares kids to be thoughtful citizens of the world. We hope you will partner with us in this ongoing endeavor!

Westland has over 1,000 students and 100 staff members who traverse the halls daily, not to mention the hundreds of parents and other visitors who stop by weekly.

The Wildcat Wire is an electronic newsletter that is produced weekly and sent out to over 900 subscribers. We can include a link to your website, as well as news of your special events.

This year will be the 4th annual running of this Westland tradition. The race is just one day, but the runners wear the shirts for years!
